Exposed fastener panels (sometimes called corrugated or R-panel) can still carry solid wind ratings when installed properly, but the fasteners are a weak point over time — especially in Florida’s combination of heat cycling, UV exposure, and salt air on the coast, which can degrade rubber washers and allow fasteners to back out gradually.
